The thesis
Most companies are not short of answers. They are short of retrieval. The policy was written, the decision was minuted, the question was answered, and all of it is now spread across thousands of files and a dozen systems that were never designed to be asked anything. The general-purpose tools cannot close that gap, because closing it requires knowing the company, respecting its rules, and being trusted with material that must not leave. So we built for that case first, rather than adapting to it later.
Why the evidence matters more than the answer
In a regulated institution, an unsourced answer is not a shortcut, it is a liability. The value is not that Alix responds quickly. It is that the response can be checked, by the person who received it, against the document it came from, before anyone acts on it. That is why the citation is not a feature we added. It is the shape of the product.
Why Luxembourg
Luxembourg runs on institutions that take confidentiality and provenance seriously as a matter of routine: public administration, supervised financial services, and professional practices working across borders and languages. It is a demanding place to build this, which is the reason to build it here. European hosting and data sovereignty are not a market position we adopted. They are the conditions we started from.
Why access is by request
We are working closely with a small number of companies rather than opening the door. It means slower growth and much better software. If you are considering it, expect a real conversation about your sources, your permission model and your governance requirements before anything is connected.
